Bill Tracy - Head Coach


The 2017 Season will mark Bill Tracy's 9th year as the Head Football Coach at Ridge, and his 20th overall. During Coach Tracy's 8 seasons at Ridge, the program has won three conference championships: in 2009, 2012, and 2013; and has been state ranked in each of those three seasons. The Red Devils have qualified for the State Play Offs during the 2009, 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2016 Seasons; and have also competed for two Sectional State Championships, the North II Group IV Sectional in 2009, and won the North II Group V sectional in 2013. The 2013 team  joined the 2003 and 1987 Red Devil squads as State Sectional Football Champions at Ridge High School. 


The 2013 season was a historic one for the Ridge Football Program. In 2013, the Red Devils finished 12-0 which set a school record for most wins in a season, won the North II Group V NJ State Championship, won the Mid State 38 Watchung Division Championship for the 2nd straight year in a row, and finished the season ranked 10th in the State of New Jersey and #1 in Somerset County.  For the program’s efforts, Head Coach Bill Tracy was named Coach of the Year for the State of New Jersey by The Star Ledger and MSG Varsity, as well as the Somerset County Coach of the Year by the Courier News.   


Prior to Ridge, Bill coached at Livingston High School for 11 years. At Livingston in 2008, the Lancers went 9-3 and won the first state football championship in school history, defeating Hackensack 28-8 in the North I Group IV Final. For the program’s efforts, Bill won several Coach of the Year Awards: one for Essex County - as named by The Star Ledger; and another for North I Group IV - as named by the NJ Football Coaches Association. In 2003, Livingston went 10-1, and won the Iron Hills Conference Championship, the first since 1979, and finished this season ranked 15th in the state.


In 2014, Bill was inducted into the New Jersey Scholastic Coaches Association Hall of Fame, and during the 2016 season Bill won his 100th game. Bill would like to share these honors with every player he ever coached, and every coach and athletic trainer he ever worked with.


Bill and his wife Sue live in Mountainside along with their 3 children: Will 17, Connor 13, and Caroline 6 1/2. 



Anthony ArimentaAssistant Coach

Anthony Arimenta is entering his 4th season of coaching football. Prior to Ridge, he coached for 2 years at Northern Valley Demarest HS. Anthony graduated from Ridge in 2008 where he played and captained the football team. He has a BA in Health/PE from Kean University where he played outside linebacker and defensive end. He is a Health and PE teacher at WAMS.


Tom Blackwell - Assistant Coach

Tom Blackwell graduated from Ridge in 1990 where he played football, basketball, and baseball. He played baseball at Marietta College where he majored in Sports Medicine. Tom coached football and baseball at Ridge in 1996 and then was their first Trainer from 1997-2001. He has been teaching health and coaching football and baseball at Ridge since 2001. 


Dan Goldberg - Assistant Freshman Coach

Dan Goldberg is returning for his 3rd year as a coach at Ridge. In high school, Dan played football and track & field. He has a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from UMass-Amherst and a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Montclair State University. 


Steve Hendershot - Assistant Freshman Coach

Steve Hendershot began coaching Ridge football in 2005. He also teaches English and is the head wrestling coach at Ridge. He has an English degree from Trenton State College and a Masters in Educational Leadership and Policy from Seton Hall University. He lives in Phillipsburg with his wife Tracy and his son Jacob. 


John-Paul Mahoney- Head Freshman Coach

John-Paul Mahoney graduated from high school in 2000 where he played both football and base- ball. He graduated from DeSales University where he also played baseball. He has been teaching for 12 years in Bernards Township and currently is an ICS History and Economics teacher at Ridge. He has also been coaching football and baseball since 2005. He is the owner of Go The Distance Baseball School, where he trains athletes in the fundamentals of baseball and softball since 2014. He is married to his wife Meghan and has two daughters Mary, age 3 and Breanne, age 1.


Max Sidoli Assistant Coach

Max Sidoli began coaching at Ridge in 2008 and works with the Varsity offensive and defensive linemen. He is also the JV offensive coordinator. Max is a graduate of the University of Central Florida. He spent 6 years in the US Marine Corps and is a retired Bernards Twp. Police Officer. He is currently the Security Officer at Ridge. 


Chris St. Genis Assistant Coach

Chris St. Genis comes to Ridge with 20+ years of coaching experience including such powerhouse programs as Montclair and Wayne Hills High Schools. He coached collegiately at Kean University, where he received his Masters in Teacher of the Handicap in 2010. Chris earned a Bachelors in Communications at Western Connecticut in 1996 where he played Center and Guard for four years in college. He worked as a special education math teacher for 14 years before stepping down to start his own sports performance business in Morristown and Sparta. Currently Chris lives in Allamuchy with his wife Lissette, daughter Leah and son Paul.



Andy West - Assistant Coach - Defensive Coordinator

Andy West graduated from Ridge in 2000, where he played and captained both football and baseball. At Endicott College he majored in Sports Management, minored in Coaching and continued to play football and baseball, serving as a Captain for the 2003 football team. Andy is currently a School Counselor at William Annin and is the Head JV Baseball Coach and Assistant Swim Team Coach at Ridge.


Scott Hoagland - Certified Athletic Trainer

 Scott Hoagland earned a BS degree in Physical Education/Athletic Training from Kean University along with a Master’s in Sports Medicine from California University of PA. Scott has served as an Athletic Trainer at Ridge High School since 2001. 


Aimee MitchellCertified Athletic Trainer

Aimee Mitchell earned a BS degree in Physical Education from East Stroudsburg University and a Masters in Health and Human Performance with a concentration in Athletic Training from the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. Prior to joining Ridge in 2004, Aimee spent 2 years at Covenant College in GA, as the Assoc. Trainer and 1 year as the Head Trainer at Bernards High.
